the New York Times reported that the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee may (JUST NOW AP CONFIRMS THAT THEY WILL) refer Clemens to the Justice Department to investigate whether he perjured himself at their hearings Feb. 13. Hardin had prepared for that possibility since former Senator George Mitchell released a report Dec. 13 with trainer Brian McNamee claiming he injected Clemens with steroids and Human Growth Hormone multiple times since 1998.
