Hexagon Sun

Thanks to Vapo for this little ditty. The two man Scottish downtempo ambient act known as Boards of Canada released this song entitled "Aquarius" from it's album Music has the Right to Children back in 1998. Given the current state of ORANGE we appear to be experiencing, I'd say they were on to something 10 years ago.

33=Orange 23=Yeah thats right

"I do actually believe that there are powers in music that are almost supernatural. I think you actually manipulate people with music, and that is definitely what we are trying to do. People go on about hypnotizing people with music, or subliminal messages and we have dabbled in that intentionally. Sometimes that's just a bit of a private joke, just to see what we can sneak into the tracks." -- Marcus Eoin

Marcus and Michael have both expressed a strong interest in the power of subliminal messaging and their work is full of cryptic messages, including references to David Koresh and the Branch Davidians and numerology amongst others.

Boards of Canada have been linked to a Scottish music collective known as Hexagon Sun...The existence of Hexagon Sun and oblique references to it in interviews, web sites and album packaging have contributed to what many people regard as the mythological aura surrounding Boards of Canada. Opinions on this subject differ greatly; some people regard Hexagon Sun as a mysterious cult, while others believe that it is simply a title for the band's recording studio. It is believed that Hexagon Sun have held parties in the past, which may be how the collective originally formed. These get-togethers were soon known as "Redmoon" events after one of their parties was during the presence of a red-colored Moon.

Ring any bells? A lunar eclipse this evening should produce a Red Moon.

Quantum Quest: A Cassini Space Odyssey (previously known as 2004: A Light Knight's Odyssey) is an upcoming animated sci-fi film, slated to be released on December 18, 2009. It stars Christian Slater, John Travolta, Samuel L. Jackson, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Michael York, and James Earl Jones.
