Film director Stanley Kubrick and Pink Floyd seem to have held one another in rather high esteem. Although neither ever worked with one another it is often noted that Kubrick wanted "Atom Heart Mother Suite" for use in "Clockwork Orange" (he used the album cover instead) and Floyd members always felt let down that they had no music in "2001: A Sapce Odyssey". Floyd's 1973 record breaking album "Dark Side of the Moon" holds symbolic resonance with the "Wizard of Oz" film which I have attempted to connect to both Fossett and Barron Hilton's Flying "M" Ranch in previous posts. In the same vein, the song "Echoes" from "Meddle" is thought to synch perfectly with a section of "2001". Back in 1980, "The Wizard of Oz" and "2001: A Space Odyssey" were the first two films released on VHS

Only a few short years after Pink Floyd unleashed "Piper" on the planet, Sir Richard was about to launch his "Virgin" record label...his first major release would come in 1973 with Mike Oldfield's haunting "Tubular Bells", made famous for it's use as the theme song to "The Exorcist".
Oldfield's 2007 autobiography "Changling" in which his discusses his "rebirth"
"In 1979, Tubular Bells was used as the main musical score for The Space Movie, a Virgin movie that celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission. The Exorcist track is the score used for the landing sequence of the Apollo flights." Sir Richard Branson has been quite busy in the two weeks since his friend Steve Fossett went missing. He has been heavily involved (financially at least) in the disappearance of 4 year old Madeleine McCann. Ben Fairhall is by far the foremost writer on the subject of Madeleine...see both his sites for numerous articles on the subject.
Yesterday, September 17th Branson announced he was selling his Virgin Megastores...the line that started it all for him way back in 1970.

Branson and another blonde McCannThis isn't the first time Branson has been connected to a McCann however, anyone recall his short lived reality show on the Fox Network in 2004 called "Rebel Billionaire"? One of the contestants was a Jessica (Jess as she is known) McCann. Jessica is from Washington, D.C. and of no relation to the family of Madeleine (as far as we know).

Richard has been ABOOT far too much, was on CNN for 2 hours talking ABOOT nada, I didn't watch all of it mind you just channel surfing. Pink Floyd was my first fav band at 4 , no joke.

Pink Floyd was (and in some ways still is) one of my fav's from a VERY early age too.

the plans and plots are EVERYwhere right now, the only difference is that we are seeing them in plain sight or that is my feeling anyway.

Great stuff recently... Particularly enjoyed the John Denver interlude. Did you know Denver was also a one-time board member of the World Federalist Association (hence the album 'One World.')

The Denver line runs quite deep and I didn't go into all the ramifications right away because I am fairly sure we haven't seen the last of this story.
